Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

ADO

IT is now a mess. What was a lightweight tool for cross-functional professionals for backlog management, tracking, discussion is now a mesh of complex of un related busy work. Leadership, don't know heads to tail. Decides to build a new layer of complexity and gatekeepers - calling these people RTEs. When will actual work be done with real knowledge ? But, no we have powepoint jockeys, and fake 2nd grade maths used in putting up ratios and calling them velocity, flow and cycle time. Try solving some hard problems for once.

Yes but the people left in IT don’t know how to AI.

And the EY consultants that Leslie hired are just 1990s DBAs who also don’t know what AI stands for.

I would have thought that cleansing ADO and grooming backlogs would be the type of thing AI would be ideal for.

@sr it’s not going that well because EY has moving goal posts that keep them employed

Sleazy less and his cronies

@gh I thought those were scrum masters? Are there two note takers in meetings now when copilot can do it for you?

RTE roles are now nothing more than note takers that capture action items and organize meetings. Joke.

@bp
That’s funny that IT management would be pi---d when someone points out some that can be improved. Do much for that “growth mindset” training we were sent to 3+ years ago. I noticed most of the legacy managers are not growth mindset oriented. Nobody wants to be called out for fixed mindset thinking and ways to improve efficiency are not welcome.

How RB and MN can’t see through LC’s incompetence and do something - anything - about it…

I have come to the conclusion that while everyone can see LC as largely ineffective, it speaks volumes that no one above him is doing anything about it.

CS has been the biggest snake in the function since the 2020 reorg. He took a useless bloated platform that does no actual work and managed to convince leaders that it’s the most important part of the the whole function. In one meeting another employee who has left the company since gave him feedback that the effort was too much and no value and he got pi---d that someone would point out the emperor has no clothes.

@OP+ “When will actual work be done with real knowledge?” You mean in IT? Oh, that’s done offshore now. Your real job is to clean data in ADO and make sure everything ticks and ties to a bunch of other disparate systems and spreadsheets.

This is how LC is getting his friends at EY paaaaaid!

What’s funny is that when he “led” Walmart and General Motors through their “transformation” journey, his EY cronies didn’t even know how to use ADO or what that is. They’re just making up work as they go. And CS is their Chevron mouthpiece to execute their work, which also got him promoted in all this disaster
