Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Venky Magic

How many different ways can Venky ruin this company from an operational role? He has a bunch of logistics professionals running sourcing & manufacturing, he is divesting of Vietnam factories to move to India, and now he is outsourcing IT to India. This company wasn't built that way!

Something I just read about the K-shaped economy we are in. Tariffs are making it increasingly difficult for companies to maintain profitability and create jobs. More roles, both in manufacturing and white-collar sectors, are and will be being pushed offshore due to tariffs. At the same time, the job market has tightened significantly, with widespread layoffs over the past two years across both government and private sectors, creating intense competition for available roles. Many companies are also redirecting significant investment toward AI infrastructure rather than hiring, which further reduces opportunities. The result is a growing divide, a K-shaped economy where those invested in AI and related sectors benefit, while many others are left behind. Please read about the K-shaped economy; it will give you a clearer picture of what is happening with Nike and many other companies in a similar situation.

Little known fact - RA is literally related to the RAT. Better check where those consulting $$$ are being directed.

Yes, and R A, VP of tech, is pushing tech the same direction. To India. How long until there are more jobs at Nike in India than the US. The immigration restrictions aren't helping. If you want to create more jobs in the US then you need to put TARIFFS on OUTSOURCING jobs, NOT on VISAS. With the way this is going, Nike will only see further declines in quality, and decline in sales.
