Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Who will be impacted?

Does anyone have an idea of what teams/departments will be impacted by next week’s layoffs?

Adding to the subtle hints other's shared -- One CIO hired a young cute contractor n given him so much power... Wonder why???

CHC comes up because of IOI. Anything negative or insufficient IOI will be cut. We know the easy fixes and anything hard is going away so we can use the funds to hire in external Big Tech L5s up to 32+ positions so they can destroy what's left of Optum AI.

After negative IOI, anything we can't add AI to is going away:
Another Indian if we're allowed to offshore
Artificial Intelligence if we can't

@w8 CHC people were some of the least competent order takers I'd ever seen.

@ew 100% disagree. Yes, CHC did bring over a few applications that could be worthwhile, but overall, it's been a disaster since day one. Blaming UHG for not protecting the assets is ridiculous. CHC should've had the proper security to begin with. Not saying everyone falls into the bucket, but the reality is, like one of the most recent posts, many of the CHC employees brought on were not that great at all, hence the security issues amongst other things. We would've been better off skipping this purchase.

ChangeHealthcare was in financial and operational disarray when United bought it. It was a terrible company, run by exceptionally stupid people who hired... and over paid... mostly low-rent je-ks.

@vw doesn't matter if tiny. He's a closet catcher from what I heard. Not that I have anything against it only if he cared about American workers! Only American he wants is one with a big package for business trips, rest will be offshored unfortunately

I'm an American in OI with a new management in India. I know our team will be hit next week. I wonder how patients and customers would respond to know their PHI is entrusted to offshore teams. How soon will that contact info be sold to the scamming call centers in Bangalore?

@cg who is the CTO of all of Optum?

@e7 CHC was not the worst purchase of UHG. The DOJ’s approval of the merger was the worst and questionable decision ever made. Not too mention UHG failed to safeguard CHC systems.

The way this company has been going I want to be in the layoff. Do I need a job of course, but I also know I can survive without having a job for a while. They tried to lay me off 3 years and decided to keep me because offshore at the time couldn't do my job. So I've prepared for this day to come back around and now I'm ready to be let go.

@bw CHC has had to be the worst possible purchase UHG had ever made in their entire history.

The CEO of Optum Finance and CTO of all of Optum have LinkedIn posts that they were let go. I think it’s going to be a massacre across tech, fintech, bank, and general corporate functions.

@bw 2 years too late but hopeful they will finally be out. Refuse to assimilate and follow Optum standards. Those applications are a huge compliance risk.

I heard TES and a few for network solutions. However, none for S&A? That’s the largest BU and a product heavy segment from CHC.

@bf The packages are the same as they've been for a couple years.
I'm glad folks get severance, the company doesn't have to give anything but your 2 weeks

@an Change Healthcare. The beginning of the downfall of Optum.
There will still be some ... but A LOT are being purged.

@bf Everyone should already know that the package is for thier salary and years. It is posted on Sparq. In most cases it will not be enough to find a new job. Meta is laying off 8K, let's see how many Optum lets go next week.

Don’t take everything you read at face value. Large-scale migrations are still underway, and if legacy CHC employees are cut, it raises a real question: who’s going to support that work? That organization also brings some strong product lines to the table, which shouldn’t be overlooked. Throw a dart and make cuts. Any specific departments?
