Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

What a perfect record got me

I've been at FIS for years. Never once got a bad review. Never been put on a PIP. I showed up every day, did my job, kept my head down. Then they called me into a room without any prior warning and handed me a layoff notice. No explanation beyond the usual corporate language. I'm over fifty. I've given this place a big chunk of my life. And they cut me like I was nothing. Perfect reviews didn't protect me. Being a good employee didn't protect me. Nothing protected me.

Same boat here. All my life events happened while I was employed by FIS. All the late nights, the weekends of my life spent working on projects and making sure the clients were taken care of during conversion events. Time taken away from friends and family, that I will never get back. I am no longer stressing about FIS and I am optimistic that this will lead me to something substantially better. Take care of yourself now. Wishing everyone the best this world has to offer.

@15s it’s hard to take in or even notice any point you are attemting to make, you just sound so angry and a little unhinged.

Stephanie didn't bring ANYBODY in. The board brought in McKinsey because of sh-t leadership - executives all the way down to the brown-nosing local manager. All pieces of sh-t. The board brought in McKinsey and said "Look at this sh-t". Mcklinsey fired back with FIRE EVERYBODY YOU MO--NS. They did it 2-3 times a month, slowly and surely to stay off of the federal radar and public radar.

Here we are 3 years later. WE ARE NOT MAKING ENOUGH MORE MILLIONS FAST ENOUGH. Again, rinse and repeat with McKinsey. McKinsey fired a boatload of their own workforce. Why? Because everything at McKinsey is lre-made and you just have to add in names and numbers and crank out 40 million + bills to a company.

But wait, you say. If that's the case, why didn't we fire executives and managers who couldn't manage to breathe air without chocking on it? You are correct. But that is end of june +. That is when we are going to outsource a ton of the workforce. At that point we will also be haring executives and managers crying their as--s off because unlike before (Where they said they had no clue - pos liars), they truly do not know they are getting fired. Deer in the headlike look because that is how full of themselves they are. Wait for it, it will be a glorious day for management - executives that have added 0 to the company and have only been negating anything positive to start crying about how it was nice working with you.

But it won't be just them. We have 80k departments and every piece of sh-t department runs itself in a piece of sh-t way because people are a piece of sh-t.

Wake up. Nobody helps anybody. Nobody does anything. Nobody has a clue. Nobody can make anything better.

FIS will be sold like a processed pig that has been sitting on the processing bench for a year. That means close to 0 dollar. Sell your stock, it is all burning. 0 value in this company.

@OP Stephanie and the people she has brought in are replacing the valuable people who help build FIS with cheaper offshore employees that follow documents scripts then when problems arrive it takes weeks or months to get to someone who actually has the skills to solve the problem. That’s why there is such a push to consolidate platforms. FIS is imploding because its leadership isn’t innovative. They just squeeze profit instead of create it.

Very sorry to hear this. But now once you are RIFed, what prevents you from exposing those and giving people a signal? I am pretty sure there are people in this company who will never do this to you, so keeping this anonymous helps the bullies cover.

Please see this as encouragement, because you didn't deserve this. With your qualifications, any company would be glad to have you. That doesn't mean that this isn't scary. Losing your employment is very difficult, it represents so much. This experience does not define you. Don't allow that to happen.

@OP I am so sorry for you. Not even an offer to go to one of the contracting companies? This company is so messed up. I understand and I hope the anger passes quickly. I wish peace to all of us in this situation.

There appears to be no justification for the people being laid off. I know of many bright, intelligent employees being laid off while non performing (in my opinion) employees remain in jobs. It just doesn't make sense.
