I think OP was alluding to job cuts coming from the TMO and DT merger plans announced that day.
@OP ok so who is being separated from the company
lay off
verb
laid off; laying off; lays off
transitive verb
: to mark or measure off
: to cease to employ (a worker) often temporarily
of a bookie : to place all or part of (an accepted bet) with another bookie to reduce the risk
: to leave undisturbed
: avoid, quit
These are not really layoffs. The term "Layoff" implies that people might get called back. These are permanent job eliminations (cuts) do to AI and efficiency synergies. THESE JOBS ARE NOT COMING BACK. EVER. ANYWHERE.
What segment of the business is being impacted by layoffs?
