My analyst su-ks. Who hires these kids?

Lets add to the list with them. Why tf are they coming in making alot more than existing staff and have absolutely zero knowledge? Then the bonuses and constant time away from their desk for the bs meetings. Exactly what are they being paid for
Our intern tries, but no one can pick up the business knowledge that quickly. He produces nice spreadsheets, which we look at and say "Nice, but what about x, y, and z?" and send him back to the drawing board while we get on with doing the actual work.
I hope he realizes that this is not a place to build a career. Get some work experience and get out is the best option.
We have that cause Robin and the chipmunks think those slackers are the future of bny. Quite laughable when the ones stuck on my team didn’t want to work and tried making up their own rules and somehow got bonuses after 4 months and at 1 yr that long time seniored staff wasnt getting. But that was before ex GS employees are being brought in to take over with a dallas site under discussion
We do have some smart and hardworking analysts. Some of the ones from affluent families are lazy, but the ones that are first gen college grads are genuine talents….working hard to make themselves something. Especially true for the yinzers.
guys, kids dont care. they dont look at work as the rest of us do. kids see this employer / employee relationship as a scam, they know we are being exploited and we are getting just peanuts, money flows to execs and shareholders.
so, when you see them behave this way, dont be surprised, they just figured it out and adjusted. we have figured it out but, because of our priors, we cannot adjust.
i dont blame them.
I am in awe some of them are even capable of figuring out how to enter the building.
LOL—-our analyst looks at Instagram and Tik Tok girlies all day! The other day, he left his phone to go to the cafeteria and the phone was repeatedly “moaning” sensuously and loudly for several embarrassing minutes until someone put it in a doc room until he came back, opened it with his password, and shut it off. He lamely said to everyone “sorry about that, ladies and gents” and dang if he didn’t go back to looking at girlies every time we passed his desk…with an empty Excel sheet open. Oh, but he just graduated, is “going for his masters” and has a degree in accounting. I weep for the future.
Tax creds, what else?
Seems as if all interns/recent grads are bad…act as if they can’t be bothered to do the work they were hired to do. Perhaps the first ones coming out of school in the AI era? Covid Grads? Idk, but hopefully it is temporary or we are all sc--wed.
