Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Watch out for Cobra billing for those who took VRP

For anyone who reads these posts and took the VRP, if you cancel Cobra because you found other coverage, watch your bank account. They took the money from my account for the monthly Cobra bill AFTER I terminated coverage. I had received an email saying the automatic debit was terminated, but I just had a funny feeling that Cigna would take the money anyway, and they did. I called the customer service center, and she put in a ticket to get it refunded, but it makes me so mad. That's a house payment. Cigna wants to keep the money to earn the interest, so I won't get refunded for 14 days! Just watch out.

I hope they put that Dr. Pepper in the bonus pool for next year.

Also don’t forget to enroll into Medicare a lot of customers are getting claims denied because cobra becomes secondary to Medicare due to primacy rules.

@a1

I'm sure this was the only instance of unauthorized withdrawals, right? Just this one isolated case? Whatever you think, chief...

That's what you get for authorizing vendors to deduct from your account according to when THEY decide to do it, rather than keeping the decision-making about YOUR own money to yourself.

Don't use auto-pay.
Don't be lazy or childish.
Pay attention.
Be an adult, and pay your bills when YOU decide they get paid.
Set up reminders on your calendar for paying your bills, and adjust accordingly.

“Cigna wants to keep the money to earn the interest”

I’m sure the board planned all this to steal that $1.50 in interest from you.

They’ll probably get a can Dr. Pepper!
