Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

The system is so weird.

I'm newer to the company and I find the on hand/back stock system completely crazy and not reliable. Then the priorities system is so weird. I think they need to figure out a better way for this.

It's all related to inventory. When the store gets inventoried once a year the on hands get corrected for the most part, then each day a never ending stream of team members mess everything up by not pulling or backstocking correctly, so as time goes on it gets worse and worse until the next inventory. It makes the fulfillment job nearly impossible. Also in backstock a ton of upper case pack locations are mislabeled as open stock so the fulfillment algorithm is so broken we can't possibly ever make green metrics. At least in my store but my store also had 4 store directors in 2.5 years and 108% turnover so the amount of people who knew how to do things correctly were far outnumbered. It's a lost cause until they drastically change things up at that store.. Each other leader position went through multiple people too. In total I think we had 2 ETLs that had been in their role for over a year. It's a lost cause until they drastically change things up at that store. More than once I purged and entire overflowing backstock aisle working every single unit and accurately inventorying each waco with no more than 2 DPCIs per waco. I was able to completely empty the hundreds of cases of unworked unlocated load, empty all the completely overflowing wacos with sometimes dozens of dpcis, 80% not located and when I was done I had reduced 32 feet of completely full backstock down to 8 feet perfectly inventoried and organized by correct area. I also fixed all the case pack locations so the algorithm wouldn't take us up ladders for every product that was in open stock. Leave for the weekend and come back, it looks like I didn't even touch it. Store director would cuss people out and say they were walking too slow instead you know, actually fixing anything. He was fired. Highly doubt anything will change with the next SD. Store has been a red store for a decade. How is that even possible? We also had more seasonal Tms than regular, and they should not be allowed to interact with backstock or inventory at all. It's a losing battle.

Welcome to TGT. The replacements for on hands and tracking systems have been tried many times and always failed.
