Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

How many rounds of RIFs can they keep doing?

Realistically they keep doing this on and on and surely they will have to stop doing this eventually I am not seeing the end game here. Soon no one will want to join and you will have ki-led off most of the workforce?

How many rounds? Once you are RIF'ed you won't care anymore so that's the endgame.

The answer is a lot. The belief is that the company needs to transform itself into a company that provides AI infrastructure, and that existing products are on the way out because of AI. You are seeing the beginning of a radical overhaul of this company.

Quit thinking you are so indispensable because the truth is, no one is indispensable except the man at the top. Sorry but the truth always hurts

If you want better, there are better companies outside who is willing to pay you better with yearly salary increase. Salary increments is something i never heard in Oracle.

OP, they will always be able to hire people. The jobs pay well and there are a lot of people looking for work. They will cut, reorg, and evaluate...repeat. If AI is carrying the workload they projected the total headcount could drop to around 100k or a ~40% reduction. If AI isn't working as well as projected they will hire back where there are gaps. It is almost guaranteed that huge amounts of experience and institutional knowledge will be lost because highest paid workers will be hit hardest. As AI gets better, and it will, and people get better at using it, and they will, the headcount will keep dropping.
