If the next date is really March 31, why wait? Why not do it right now? Why put us through more stress? I honest to goodness don't get it.

Really good reason to have an urgent family matter that takes you out of the country for 2 months. Get that leave request in, right away...
The number of people that will be laid off on 31st is so large, they need some time to make sure all the processes are in place.
Because Oracle HCM cannot handle too many transactions on one go 😂
To make sure processes are in place for when the employee is gone, and everything gets put on a structured timeline.
