@gb That's about $22K per head. That doesn't even cover the garden leave, never mind the severance.

"Accelerated vesting".

@g7
Same, there is zero chance there is accelerated vesting, and zero chance in the US at least that they will give 18 months severance. Completely blows up the creditability of the article.

I started believing the post till I reached the upto 18 months severance and accepted vesting portion

I used to think this was all just rumors or trolls making it up. No chance of 30k.

I'm starting the think 30k is the minimum based on all the reliable publications out there.

Oracle 10Q (March 2026)
ORACLE $2.1 BILLION IN RESTRUCTURING ACTIVITIES
Fiscal 2026 Oracle Restructuring Plan
During the first nine months of fiscal 2026, our management approved, committed to, initiated and further supplemented plans to restructure and further
improve efficiencies in our operations due to our acquisitions and certain other operational activities (2026 Restructuring Plan). The total estimated
restructuring costs associated with the 2026 Restructuring Plan are up to $2.1 billion and will be recorded to the restructuring expense line item within our
condensed consolidated statements of operations as they are incurred through the end of the plan. We recorded $156 million and $982 million of
restructuring expenses in connection with the 2026 Restructuring Plan for the three and nine months ended February 28, 2026, respectively. Any changes to
the estimates of executing the 2026 Restructuring Plan will be reflected in our future results of operations.

Expecting 20000-25000 in India alone. Its going to be massive. But not sure 45000.
Better start looking now as in India notice period and hiring is usually slow and >3 months.

"Oracle is reportedly offering generous severance packages, with some employees receiving up to 18 months of salary along with accelerated equity vesting. "

Anybody working in tech should run, not walk to the escape hatch with the big, red button next to it that says EJECT. If this threat doesn't motivate you to get off your a** and re-think your skills and career path then you're just begging to be a casualty of the industry.

Anything is possible but this isn't probable. At this point in time AI isn't a direct replacement for people. It is getting there fast but has a ways to go. It could easily be cut 45K over the next few years but doing it in one cut would be risky for the company. This doesn't mean that the bean counters who make the decisions aren't enamored with AI even though they don't fully understand it.

Its really interesting ORCL puts out no statement confirming or denying it's plan. also interesting that Wall Street doesnt demand such info.

Freaking incredible. That's more than 25% of the employees. Hard to imagine that all happening this quarter, but this is Oracle after all, so who the f*** knows? In any case, if that were to happen, it would be on the scale of what has been happening in the federal government.
