Employee Appreciation Day

Employee Appreciation Day was today (Friday 3/6) in case you missed it. Did you guys get an email from a manager today that wasn't hollow or generic as the AI that wrote it?

Anyone actually feel appreciated?

Was laid off during appreciation week actually. Could have kept my job had they let me work from home for a permanent health condition. Didn't matter that I had four doctors sign off that with my condition travel would be detrimental to my health. It would have been four hours of traveling a day.
Have to live near a hub?

I miss the days when employee appreciation week meant the department manager walking around with a cart full of ice cream sandwiches. The $0.35 per employee must have really did them in.

Having it in a Friday when most people are remote was a brilliant move! They easily got away with only having to buy 1 dozen cookies instead of thousands. Cost savings at it best!

“Mark your calendars for employee appreciation week in June!” Yeah, I’m gonna go ahead and mark my calendar so that I make sure I am prepared to try to get a free candy bar or whatever bs they hand out in three months from now… can’t wait! I was thinking of quitting but now I’m going to stay for at least a few more months out of anticipation.

Also, why is there even a separate employee appreciation day when there is a whole dedicated week coming up in June. Such a meaningless joke.

Everyone on our team received the same copy+pasted paragraph, then 2 sentences below it unique to the individual.
What’s also funny is on TeamWorks there was a tile ad for employee appreciation week. When you clicked it, it just took you to the top of the home page. It didn’t send you anywhere, tell you anything, It did nothing, which is so symbolic.

Nope! No email. No skip levels. Cancelled meetings for months. We have managers that like to pretend we don’t exist!

Don't be butt hurt about it. We all got an email and there was something on Teamworks. WF celebrates for a full week in June. You will get your fill.

I noticed that Employee Appreciation Week is once again during a layoff week. Way to go, tone deaf appreciation committee!
