Best way to quit? Are we required to give two weeks notice? Can they take the bonus away if i give notice before it’s paid?

Add your personal email address to Workday, if you haven't already. Switch paystubs and tax documents to paper delivery, so you're not at the mercy of system access to obtain/maintain these docs in the future. They're still available online for download after switching to paper, if you need to access them quickly. The only difference is that HR holds back W2s for employees who selected paper, even though it's readily available earlier, as an incentive to get you to switch to electronic delivery only. F off HR!

Document all of your performance goals in Workday as complete and successful and ask Copilot to draft some corporate rah! rah! drivel about how amazing your fake accomplishments are. This will align perfectly to leadership's self-assessment narratives, and no one ever reads it anyway.

Say yes to all new assignments, especially if it's leading a significant initiative/project. Do nothing.

Use any remaining Best in US points to buy a golf towel or some stupid sh--e, and use all your accrued sick days/hours. Take a snapshot of your PTO balances in Workday before your final sign off, to reconcile your last paycheck.

Increase your 401k and/or HSA contributions for your final paychecks, if you need/want the relevant tax benefits for 2026.

Cancel any voluntary/charity payroll deductions ASAP - Employee Assistance Fund, PAC, optional insurance policies, etc.
Cancel PAC immediately even if you're not quiting. There's nothing worth supporting here anymore, or at any of the large institutions for that matter.

Request a copy of ALL company policies in Total Rewards. They will be sent via mail. They're not all available with alumi access post-termination. Hopefully you never need them but if you do, your attorney will thank you later.

Request confirmation in writing from your manager that your last day XX/XX/XXXX will be reported to Payroll within 24 hrs. Cc your personal email and request Reply All. You'll need this documentation to support future legal action if they don't provide your last paycheck in accordance with employment laws.

Nothing has to be returned to your manager before your last day, so don't make any special trips or jump through unnecessary hoops if you're hybrid. Your badge, corporate card, phone, laptop, etc. are all cut-off, just like when they give remote employees an hour or less advanced notice of their termination. F all the way off HR! Send the hardware back in pre-paid boxes supplied by IT. You can request it yourself in MyTech before logging off. Securely dispose of everything else, or deliver as instructed at your earliest convenience, if you happen to have physical keys, files, etc. at your home.

Med ins coverage at the employee rate goes through the end of the month in which you quit.

Not sure whether this is the most current version but you can search MyHR for this doc if necessary:

Happy landing!

Do not let them know you are quitting or retiring till you see the checks in your account.

There is no requirement to give them 2 weeks notice notices as they don’t have the courtesy to give us warnings.

Only give 2 weeks notice if you like your manager and department

You should know, as you work at a bank, the money doesn't exist until it clears in your account.

Even though you must be employed as of 2/27/26 to get bonus+lti, please do not give resignation notice until Tuesday evening 4pm (3/3/2026) as payroll batch kicks then and your Bonus LTI etc will be generated (3/4/26) and you will get paid on 3/7/26 (even if 3/3 is your last working day)

Wait until you have that bonus $ deposited.
They can't yank it back after the fact.

Giving notice is optional, and it doesn't have to be 2 weeks.

Keep on good terms with who/what matters, so you can use certain people and HR for decent references in the future. Just because you might have landed a new job now, doesn't mean you won't be looking for another within the next year or two. You don't want to be flagged as being on anyone's "do not hire" list.

Don't put your notice in before you have your bonus money in hand. They can take it away. Part of the policy at least it was a couple of years ago when I looked it up.

Bonus pays at end of the week, why risk it? Just put your notice in Monday.
