Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

The weight just kind of builds up

Hard to pin down exactly why I'm drained most days. It's just this constant pressure to keep up, never feeling like you're actually ahead. I'm starting to worry this is the future, with no relief in sight.

I’ve been dealing with that feeling for ~30 years now. It’s literally what being an adult working in corporate America is all about. Buckle up, buttercup. It’s a bumpy ride from here to the grave, good luck.

I agree! My life is a full bucket with water running over the sides all day and night. The game is won when you can focus on the most important tasks. You will never be perfect just be your best. Remember your gravestone should never say, “this guy worked 12+ hours per day and on the weekends. He didn’t spend time with his family….”
Ughh!

Welcome to being a grown-up.

I know it was easier when mommy was hovering over you and making sure everything was OK. Now you have to face the real world buttercup.

If the worst thing that ever happens in your life is you feel like you just can’t catch up on everything at work, you’re better off than most other people on this planet.

It is typical imposter syndrome. We all suffer from it. Some of us are just good at pretending we got it all figured out when in fact we are all just learning as we go. Keep ya head up!!! It’s all gonna be fine!

That’s intentional. There are peers and supervisors that are actually thriving and take enjoyment from this non collaborative environment. You got to realize that chronic unease is intentional
