@fc

Correct. Someone, somewhere is always hiring. I’ve never seen an absolute company wide hiring freeze. Even in those groups who have a hiring freeze, there’s always a way to get one squeezed in. For example, a recent director level hire in TEBG that was posted one week, filled & announced the next.

They need to do another internal reorganization first. Then lay off just enough people so Wall Street doesn’t notice. Then report improved cash flow with no increase from sales and no investments.

@dy it is real that they are manipulating the quarterly numbers to face wall street. Right now they are behind in Q1 which they are trying to pull in Q2 sales from customers or distributors. Code Red.

They're still hiring, just not everywhere.

Q1'26 sales are behind as part of it had been pull forward to plug Q4'25.

Q2'26 will continue to look bad. 3M needs real growth, not by pulling ahead to make quarterly figures.

Until sales start coming up, I don't foresee spend or jobs opening up anytime soon. They say second quarter, but if money isn't coming in, it isn't going to go out. Tighten your belt.

I would say very low likelihood for several months.

More likely putting headcount on doubled secret probation.

Unlikely. Rumor has it that in April we are expecting to see cuts for the entire IT org.
