Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Numerous examples of non-value adding work

With the number of major IT incidents after a big layoff event, LC has his whole organization follow his EY friends' direction of making tactical work very visible by spending more time in Azure DevOps (ADO) than actually delivering work.

It's unfortunate that business leaders (as well as his own boss RB) cannot go into ADO and read the ridiculous types of features and stories that IT employees are being forced to put into ADO. A fine tool for developers has been ba----dized into an overwhelming complicated task list, with the CIO having prioritized data quality in ADO as his top item to deliver. There are literally hundreds of thousands of entries, each entry with the expectation of having completeness, with scrum masters and RTEs writing up stories that effectively means "schedule a meeting with stakeholders xyz" with a value of 10 because they had to fill in all these ridiculous fields.

How can RB be OK with this? An entire IT department wasting their lives away..

And who brought in the LC the first place? Do you even know who you put in the budget to? it's still under DEI payroll your stealing work illegal hire for those not even qualified let alone the me no speaking english. I think removing all contracts of I.T. is good idea just to show you DEI how st---d you really are. Enjoy your same old tactic in illegal activities after all. DEI is the center of attention just like you wanted. Have fun. Wouldn't be so pathetic not even funny to laugh about. What the heck I'll laugh it off anyways! HAAAAHAHAHAHAHAA!

I appreciate the down votes and I was expecting this feedback.
I have been successfully using various AI tools in the last 6+ months both at Chevron and in my personal use. It saves a lot of time and can be very beneficial.

examples of non-value adding work? How ‘bout the steaming tu-d of scorecards across the board being treated as the most complex, convoluted process that is wasting a boatload of people’s time? Christ, we have done this sh-t for years and now it’s been turned into a ridiculously complicated process. We are doomed.

@hm
Anyone that thinks AI is a waste of time has not used it. You can save a tremendous amount of time by using it to research information. A place with as much information as Chevron can benefit from AI.
If you do not agree, I respect your opinion but you will find out in the future because it will leave you behind your peers.

@gr no, you’d think it’s an IT company from the way they’re su-king off AI

@gk don’t forget portfolio hub … and workday needing to map to target process. For the sake of dashboards and more power bi reports. Insanity. Next up: create ado work items for vacation
