Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

The wait is the worst

I just need them to get it over with. If I’m laid off, so be it. But the constant waiting and stress are wrecking my mental health and starting to affect my physical health too. I need this to be over.

Be prepared. It may ease your worry. On your personal device:

  • Make a list of email addresses of colleagues you want to notify if you are cut
  • Update your resume and start looking for jobs. You don’t have to apply yet, but get a feel for what’s out there.

Also

  • Cut some extraneous expenses if possible and avoid large expenses
  • Clear out anything personal from your office workspace
  • Do the minimum required at work
  • Get some exercise, it helps with sleep and reduces worry (a little)

I have been stressed since 2024 when they started hiring offshore, too many people and they can’t even do their jobs. We need to overwork for them and now waiting to be fired. I really want this to be over

I have literally been exactly where you all are.

Tell yourself and others the following.

“There is no need to worry about the things you can change, and worrying will not help with the things you cannot change”

There was life before Cigna, there will be life after Cigna.
