Our managers seem to specialize in drive-by management. They're gone for weeks, practically invisible, then they swoop in with ill-informed, half-baked ideas based on zero context, wreck our workflow, and take off. I'm assuming they spend the next few weeks patting themselves on the back for job well done.

Also known as “Seagull Management”…they swoop in over all the employees and cr-p all over them and then fly away.
This tracks. They also get agitated when they can’t be spoon fed answers from a magically prepared PowerPoint they never bothered to ask for. Anyone remember G-yatri trying to solve problems for projects she barely understood, live, in front of 50 people during her bi-weekly?
