Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

every. single. year.

pepsico lays off every year. every. dang. year. at some point they’ll have to cut the overlaid matrix orgs — especially any group with “global” in the name. but this probably isn’t that year. there are still plenty of white-collar u.s. jobs that can be cut and re-assigned to india and mexico.

pepsico is dangerously close to a real brain drain in the american market. most analysts and lower-level management are now abroad — and, frankly, wholly inept — which means there’s no street-level understanding of the u.s. market. you could definately blame christy jacoby and brent crombie for that mess, whether they’ll ever recieve accountability or not.

@k1 yup one of two ways. Either combine frito and beverage supply chain...in which case need distibutors to deliver even to C store

If that doesnrt cut enough cost...back to refranchize, aka layoff all white collar, and delivery is the bottler problem

Either way more cuts

DSD is a thing of the past, and the Club model will dominate most of the business. In that setup, there’s no U.S. workforce involved.

This is and has been the companies MO for a while and it’s not changing anytime soon. There’s always going to be layoffs on the horizon until DSD is gone for PepsiCo. Look at the signs they’re all in front of you if you’re looking

Layoffs, restructuring, reorganization. These are HR and Senior leadership treating the symptoms, not getting to the root cause of the problems. It’s their answer to get short-term gains to push the real issues further down the road. They refuse to look in the mirror and realize the truth.. Moving work to India and Mexico for low salaries is just creating more problems. This leads to them cutting more headcount.
