Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

I feel like when we had the first ranking people worked harder. When I left the company and came back, I was a bit surprised that that had gone away, and I noticed the change. I’m not mad at it.

The rating system has a 5% forced yearly attrition process to get rid of the people that managers don’t like disguised as “low performers “ in the rating system. Chevron will discover they will be left with a small subset of people that can actually complete any meaningful work. But by then all the jobs will be India.

Expect an increase in profit in the financial call this week.

You must be on the “ favorite” list to like the old system. There is too much favoritism on the old system. But I have been here so long I have watched low performers get promoted to positions beyond their skills to perform. Old figs know all the tricks, haha!

I pray this will actually lead to differentiated pay based on individual performance. I’m tired of being on “one team”.

The last system was ridiculous, so it is a good idea to have a rollback. From my perspective, everything rolled out with Agile was a disaster: It was to opposite of everything important in this industry from long term risk mitigation to a focus on saftey.
