Is anyone else concerned that poor leadership decisions are putting the whole company at risk? I enjoy my role and my team, but the strategic mistakes are piling up. We need a change in direction quickly.

You have a BOD that is exceptionally incompetent. Billions in lost shareholders value, angry customers, toxic work environment, brain drain and a severly disgruntled employee base. Unfortunately nothing will change until institutional investors demand a change. They are the only folks who matter and who the BOD and the Stink are accountable. When Larry Fink says the Stink must go, he'll go. Until that time you are stuck with incompetence.
IMO - the company is going back to basics and stripping out all technologies except fiber. AT&T will be a carrier. The only products we will keep are the high end revenue makers. We are seeing a lot of the old technologies being sunset, sold off, or contracted out. This means there will be excessive headcount. Upper management wants to drive employees out by making the atmosphere unappealing and toxic. They hope a lot of the headcount will walk away on their own. There are cuts coming - a lot of cuts. It will take some time to downsize. The writing is on the wall. You just need to open your eyes and read the words (some of it is cryptic). AT&T has made some head spinning decisions in the past (DirecTV, Time-Warner, etc.) and the company wants to simplify to guarantee revenue and become a stable provider. If you want to hang around, look at the technologies and service offerings that will be the foundation for the company coming in the future. If you are a valuable employee and leadership recognizes your worth, they will save you. They saved me multiple times because I was a hard charger in my day. Good luck to those who continue to care.

Our current CEO is driving AT&T to the ground and the board of directors is totally asleep at the helm as well or going along with the "BIG" plan to get rid of just about everyone so their pockets get full of cash...!!!! Very sad.....
Yep it’s a mess and every time this leadership changes something it just gets worse. You’d think at this point it would get better, even if by a fluke, but it just gets worse. Their only play is to cut cut and cut some more. We’ve been cutting off limbs for a while now.
Only a buyout can save the company. The entire leadership structure is rotten and none of that can be fixed with the current ownership. No one who challenges their superiors is allowed to stay employed here past L1/L2. Our board is all failures and nepotistas who could not run a lemonade stand. Any acquiring entity is just going to cut headcount in half right after they hand out all the golden parachutes to the execs, so that is not a great endgame either.

There is definitely something going on in the background. Not clear if it’s a massive headcount reduction coming, massive reorg or the company selling off parts of the business.
