Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

25th most valuable brand, but...

.. the Telekom/TMobile is 11th and Verizon is 16th... How come TMobile is better than ATT at the US soil? Well for example they still offer hybrid working policy.

I know 3 people who left T and are with T-Mo. One moved to Kansas City and 2 are still virtual for the past 6-7 years. So that no poaching rule is bull.

@hn I left ATT just because the forced RTO. You spend 10 hrs a day polluting atmosphere, wasting time, risking life at the highway for what? To have no dedicated desk, sitting on MS Teams? Field techs, salesreps cannot do work remotely, we can.

@b5

Lol, everyone already hates AT&T because of predatory practices, billing issues, customer service and constant loss of CPI.

Everyone hates whiny WFH management even more.

You think a person that works at McDonald's or Walmart cares about your RTO 5x8 schedule...? You think a field tech that talks to these people face to face everyday cares that you have to get off the couch and go back to the office?

No chump, they had no years of time off at the house and have no remorse for your complaints.

Be happy you still have a job.

“ The problem is that the carriers have an unwritten “no poaching” policy”

Nah. People that worked for me have gone on to good careers at both TMO and Verizon.

And by the way the TMO guy has become very wealthy over the last 15 years or so. You can do that with stock options, and a stock that actually goes UP in value.

@OP I know someone who tried cracking open the TMO door for ages…. The problem is that the carriers have an unwritten “no poaching” policy….

“ WFH ain't gonna save AT&T.”

Having tens of thousands of management employees telling their friends and family how much the company stinks is not helping. Everyone read The Memo; everyone knows now.

Better network.

Better leadership.

Happier employees.

Lower debt.

More affordable rate plans.

Better advertising and marketing.

Not #567 out of 600 on best culture list.

CEO does not send angry emails on Friday afternoons to berate employees and encourage them to quit for getting the engagement survey wrong.

@ae

Cool story bro

Maybe it's time for you to retire and take up golf, old timer.

@aa worked from home for 20 years before Covid, never once played golf in my life. Also never ran errands during work. Sounds like that’s a YOU problem, and you should be dealt with accordingly.

WFH ain't gonna save AT&T.

It'll just tank it faster with everybody playing golf and running errands on the clock.

The “brand” may have some value but the company has none. We’re saddled with more debt than we can ever pay off From all the bad deals.

We're #1 in failed M&A! We're also #1 in creating a toxic work environment. We're also #1 spending the most $$ in marketing sponsorships.

Thank you for all the collaboration and innovation. It's insane how much is happening these days!!
