Is there any company polices stating I must be logged on my laptop while at work?
Last week I did not log on my computer one day while at work. I didn't notice anything unusual that day or did I receive any phone calls from anyone telling me they have not received a response to emails they sent me.

@v9 Hate to break it to you, but it's completely legal in all of Europe to track employee usage of company devices, just needs to comply to GDPR (all that legalese you agree to when you get hired).
Unless you are european as they are not allowed to do that there
Hope greenlanders are looking forward to their upcoming indentured servitude to their corporate MAGA overlords
We will strip these rights from those su-kers one by one because it is un american
Nike , as most employers do, has the ability to track your company owned device usage and can see whether you are logging on via the work network. They also track badge swipes into buildings.
Turn on your automatic out of office reply saying you are on a business trip with very limited access to emails, don't list your cellphone number in reply. The automatic out of office reply should cover you for at least five months.
I did this for about 7 months in 2024. No one said or did anything. Org was a disaster though so I didn’t really have a real manager at the time… Enjoy the chaos if you can!
it means you don't matter and you are expendable

If you were doing what you needed to be doing for your job (ie in an offsite, meetings, etc) requiring your attention, I’d say good for you staying present IRL rather than obsessively checking email. If you just showed up to the office and hung out doing nothing, you might find yourself on the wrong end of a PIP if it becomes a pattern,
