More Layoffs Coming…

There has been some speculation about potential layoffs in March. Has anyone heard anything credible or been given guidance related to this? Please share context if available.

@33z Confirmed. We have been moving senior managers around based on who we want to save. Directors and higher have the lists. So if you had a great SM and now he’s been moved and you have a bad one your store is closing or vise versa. Also if you are hourly no severance. Salary gets 1 week per year.

@t2 I still work for Verizon, and I mentioned this exact thought to my team leader last week. The work my team performs is repeated throughout the company, there is nothing that I do for Verizon that is unique.

To that point, one of the main tools we use for work was deleted last fall. The update is designed for anyone to use, including our sales team. We were two office buildings full last year, this year we are down to one. A friend who used to work for Verizon contacted me recently about a position with another company. I sharpened my resume and applied for the position last week.

Left a year ago! Took my payday and purged myself from the toxic environment. No more ego's, no more backstabbing lies and no more fluff. VZW is the epitome of poor leadership and echo chamber culture. Life is too short for that garbage.

The first round in November was based on who can we get rid of and their work load or employees etc can be taken on by their peers
(Ex: a lot of sales reps and managers and directors were let go bc their territory was easily able to be absorbed by other reps, managers or directors around them geographically)

This next round is based more on profitability. How much do you make the company (if you’re in sales how much profit does the company make after paying you commission, salary, expenses and your chargebacks and deacts) if you’re in a non sales related department how key is your role vs how much they pay you. Can they get away w cutting you and divvying your work out to others bc you’re in a higher pay tier? This is the new algorithm ans yes they have reports for all the above

The Frontier acquisition will require significant headcount reduction.

Absolutely 100% accurate

More corporate stores will be divested. It is 100% happening. Tibbits said it on a call- it 100% is happening. It will follow suite to the Q4 strategy- (ultimately nobody is safe) it really won’t matter where you are on leaderboard, it makes financial sense for Verizon to make these moves. Unfortunately some of the agent companies haven’t been performing, specifically some of the smaller, better, agents to work for. Expect a lot of cellular sales and victra takeovers.

They are all about their profit over your own livelihood. Watch carefully as they will sc--w you for a dollar and a metric.
