Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Small starup

I got offered a job in a small startup. Less than 30 employees. They're doing great right now, and the offer is really good, but I'm so worried. While job security here is an issue, with startups the whole company can go under in a heartbeat. I have no idea what to do.

@OP I would not ask for advice on here where contributers are focussed on layoffs and generally pretty negative.
Yes there are layoffs at FIS which is cr-p, but the vast majority of staff are not getting laid off and some even doing a job they like and are happy with their package.

startups don't need legions of office of transformation people, and powerpoints, and micro management metrics. they just solve problems directly.
you should take the job and enjoy the ride

@b4 actually the opposite. you are guaranteed to have an expiration date here

Fis is not guaranteed security anymore. The risk reward ratio might be a bit different from even a year ago.

@OP your odds of losing your job in either place is probably the same

@OP questions I would ask How long has this startup been in business generating revenue?
Are they boot-strapped or do they have investors?
Do they have a dedicated sales team in house?

Based on those answers would help me determine to make the move or not.
