Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Central UM being forced to work 8a-5p

Why in the he-l does this so called dept think its a good idea to have everyone work the same schedule. Anyone with half a brain cell knows that a staggered schedule makes the most sense. Early shift starts offering p2ps earlier and keeps the flow going with the id--tic 4 hr time frame requirement. If everyone starts at the same time, the MDs will be overloaded with work with all same deadlines. Everyone in Centralized UM upper leadership must be "yes ma'ams" bc regions worked like a well oiled machine for years with staggered scheduling. Chalk this up as another notch in their belt to pi-s people off. Good grief.

@ea You sound selfish and I am glad you are gone. There are human beings behind those authorizations waiting for care. I hope no one in your family is ever needing a PA for medication or a SNF approval after surgery.

The nurses in senior medical management have no idea how to do the job of utilization review nurse and they do not care. This work hours time change is stupid.

Look at who the leaders are. These people have sold their soles to the Humana c suite and only care about getting ahead. Once they are used up, Humana will toss them aside.

I left in October and this is one of the many reasons why. They are stuck in antiquated times. They should be offering a variety flexible schedule options. 8, 10, and 12hr shifts should be a thing, especially with that d-mb 4hr requirement. Also when they refused to tell me if the metrics would or wouldn't change. As if they didn't have an answer. The ONLY perk of that job is working from home, everything else su-ked for me. I even worked at a slower pace, just to make sure that I never did more than was required. I was so bored at that job and refused to "go above and beyond", as there was no reward for it.

These days I work my 3 shifts per week and am much happier. I don't have to put in a request or use all of my PTO for doctors appointment and errands. I also self schedule and can take time off, while still getting my hours in.

This change makes me so sad. There has been so many changes lately and just another thing to start micromanaging the herd. This job has morphed into something that I do not recognize.
