Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Did anyone receive a bs rating and actually fight it

If you got a bs rating from them altering them, did you file a complaint with hr or anywhere else? Just curious if everyone is going to let them get away with it or hang them out to dry

if they get you for "performance" you won't get any severance either. It's just a cheap way to get out of paying you, and if they get you before 3 years they claw back any 401k contributions they made.

Below is definitely not safe. And if Some, still be looking for a new gig.

HR won’t do anything, take it to Ethics and bring your receipts.

@c2 you can put comments. I did. I left comments that I did not agree with the rating and why. I know it won’t matter but you never know and I will continue to speak up until I am able to leave or they show me the door, whichever comes first.

Whether it's below or some doesn't matter. Managers can "expect" resignations as well in 2026.

BNY is not a real firm. Offer push-back with regards to your review, but yes, update your resume and start looking for new employment opportunities.

@dc as a manager i can tell you many. I challenged it with hr because of the fact many on my team were altered without my knowledge but then duringbthe mandatory mgr calls with hr about the process they kept saying we had to own the rating. Im not “owning” anything i did not give. Follow up with an hr rep says whoever changed it has to tell the reason why cause that is what is to be relayed and they agree with my feelings on owning it. The reason of many was simply having to meet the % given so many wfh staff were targets but they dont want us telling them that. Per hr, reasons cannot be made up after the fact which is also what i see them doing

Even if you file a complaint, no body cares. I went to ER with my complaint and was told “it’s a business decision”. Look for another job and leave this sh-tshow behind!

I will be challenging and not acknowledging. I’d be interested to know how many of us have received these.

Don’t acknowledge it if it’s BS. Since you can’t put comments that it’s BS, your acknowledging it makes it appear as if you agree with what is stated. Not that it really matters but I regret acknowledging mine. Two weeks later and I was laid off. I agree with the others, get out of this sick place.

Just search the forum here. This is very common and you have zero recourse. I was a manager and often had to choose someone who didn't deserve a bad rating, but was the least critical person on the team. It's messed up. I left after having to lay people off two years in a row this way. Much better now.

You have no recourse. Sorry. Just get out while you can.

Yes, I received 2 bs ratings and knew they'd continue to push me out by rating me unfairly , so I left. Life is so much better in every aspect post bny.
