Thread regarding SAS Institute layoffs

Big changes in Jan 2026?

I’ve heard from four different people that something big is supposed to happen in January 2026, but nobody would give me details. I’m curious what they might be talking about. Any guesses?

All you need to know is that the company is profitable.

While the Sales team didn’t beat the year-over-year sales last year, there are big deals in the works that we’re working to close.

The pipeline is strong, we’re running on 7 cylinders and we’re going to hit the ground with all hands on deck, roll it hard, and kick that can down the field for a strong finish in 2030!

Now who wants to have some cake to celebrate our upcoming IPO?!?!

@c7 have you seen the revenue numbers for this year? Didn’t think so.

"Viya is outpacing SAS 9 upgrades and cancellations"

Revenue would be gowing if that was true.

@as Are you speaking from actual information or just speculating. The only thing I’ve heard is

  • big reorg
  • we are profitable
  • Viya has grown substantially with 1b in sight
  • Viya is outpacing SAS 9 upgrades and cancellations

I know others have heard the same thing. Pretty telling that no one talks about those things

There will be no reductions in the Art Department, which is safe.

I'm surprised that some big changes haven't happened already. Big changes are long overdue, unfortunately. Employees should be thankful to Dr. G for trying to stave off what is becoming increasingly inevitable -- big layoffs. My sympathies go out to the folks impacted.

Viya freeze until further notice.

Loser products announced as unsupported and commensurate headcount reductions.

Doubt worker bees will be affected, likely just redundant management.

@an+1kdadhpwr:

Thank god. This will solve everything.

A re-org is just what is needed to turn things around, maintain employment levels, and increase profits.

Happy holidays!
