Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Career versus job

This has always been a job. If you are lucky enough to move up the ranks good for you. I always put in the time to get my work done and if that included extra time occasionally so be it. However if I got my tasks done at 4:59 I was signed out at 5.

ATT does not want loyal employees. They want you to stay a couple years and hit the road when salaries rise. I show up at 8 then go to breakfast. I then bust shop for about an hour. I then surf the internet for about another hour before heading to lunch. After lunch I check out a conference room for a little more internet time and sometime nod off for 30 to an hour. By that time its time for a cofee to wake myself back up. I then head back to my unassigned desk for another 1 of surfing before I pack it in for the day. Moral of the story dont grow to attached becasue you will be show the door faster than greece lighting.

I leave at 3. I’m market based and that’s when most people in my area leave work.

You forgot "versus journey". That's what the stank called it.
It's kind of like that at T, when you are on a journey, your never in the same place 2 days in a row. Kind of like our musical chairs seating.

Putting in extra time and getting work done are traits of a loyal employee. That's explicitly not wanted here at AT&T.

Stop it!
