IT help desk has heavy accent and doesn’t resolve the problem at all.

Going downhill? Can I help push?
I had to call HR the other week, I knew it was going to be someone from the Philippines, and I was correct. They specifically hire people who have done a very good job of making them sound like native, or at least naturalized from an early age, English speakers, but it was still plainly obvious. The speech patterns, even when scripted, are not the same as someone who lives here.
Then there's the comprehension and cognitive ability. I'm not saying the person was not smart, they may very well be quite smart. I am saying that they had no clue what to do in their job. Zero help, it was a complete waste of time and effort on my part. They are not here to support employees, they are here to frustrate you, and make you want to leave because the company does zero to empower their workers. The more skilled you are, the worse this place will treat you.
As if tech allows you to fix anything yourself. Restarting your machine and clearing caches is the extent of your powers. This is one reason why I was hoping for BYOD to become the standard approach. No more garbage hardware, garbage support, or mommy controls lockdown on every single useful troubleshooting function.
Gee I wonder if the replies in broken English (which would be pathetic if he's a native speaker) and formatted like a poem are OP pretending to be other people...
Absolutely true - the saying rings true no matter the situation- “Import the third world, become the third world”.
Nothing will be able to save them no matter how many commercials they have with celebrities
@OP
Hookay.....
If you were smart you would not need to call for support, you'd resolve the issue yourself
I had to call the help desk the other day
I couldn't understand half of what they said
She had to spell almost every command out. I cringe every time I call for support
So many useless hires in India. No one has a clue what they do.
