Too dangerous to RTO in the Northeast

We received 9 inches of snow yesterday and the streets and walkways are full of ice.

There will be many falls, injuries, and lawsuits as a result.

A responsible and reasonable corporation would have advised their employees to stay safe and work from home.

At least I punched the clock!

@b9 yes, they absolutely are. If you deem the conditions unsafe to drive, schools are closed, state of emergency, etc. and the company tells you that you must commute anyway, they are 100% liable. We have some stupid people working here… ge-z

I'm in the SE. When we get bad snow or ice, the company makes us drive to the work center and sit there all day. It's too dangerous to put their trucks on the road but fine for us to drive our own.

this is laughable. the company is in no way liable for what happens on your daily commute. even if in your own world you count it as part of your 8 hours. grow up.

We have been told that if we find it too dangerous to drive in, we should charge at least 4 hours of vacation time so we don’t end up in report. Then we are expected to WFH 8 hours that day.

Good Lord. People have been dealing with winter commutes for generations. They would probably be more flexible if people didn't try to turn every change in the wind direction into a reason to WFH. That type of laziness just reinforces why they've pushed RTO.

They don’t care. The more dangerous the better in their eyes. Potentially one less headcount to lay off. This is why we responded on the survey about health and wellness.
