Half our team is gone, and somehow we’re supposed to keep everything running like nothing changed. I genuinely don’t understand how leadership thinks the same workload is going to get done with half the people. There’s no plan, no adjustment, nothing. How's this supposed to work?

Our whole team, and our peer teams, were effectively told today that we'll be dismissed at some point next year when they hire a bunch of generalists with broad experience who know how to monitor a dashboard and route issues to dev teams, while we'll all be displaced.
You're not supposed to, or expected to, stay.
It's amazing how many times people say this and the work still gets done. The reason is that your team was bloated and you all got used to doing 50% work. Now, the chickens have come home to roost.

It won’t work and your team should show that it doesn’t work. Don’t work a ton of overtime. If things get done with fewer people and you’re team ki-ling themselves they’ll just keep it as is.

It's not supposed to work, that's the point. They want people to quit and don't quite care about operational impact at this point
