I'm surprised that more impacted retail employees aren't pushing back especially directors. Do you know why you were chosen? If not, have you asked?

There’s nothing to ask. The cuts were made by algorithms. Performance wasn’t a part of this round, it was more based on geography and convenience of lease endings and then in the non customer facing roles who they could part with immediately
High performers and low alike are gone.
More coming
Asking won’t change anything and their direct manager or even the couple above them likely dont know.
what does push back even mean?
I’ve been a top performer for over 8 years in the retail side. No PIP, no digital locker complaints, and nothing at all that would have caused me to be picked to be laid off. Our store wasn’t very productive so I figured that was the reason. I know it’s not my fault and I honestly wouldn’t want to continue working for a company that doesn’t value me for what I’ve done. I’d rather take my skills and experience elsewhere.
It’s a bit late for that, no?
Just leave.
What do you think that would accomplish? Once you get your notice it doesn't actually matter if they flipped a coin or threw darts or picked names out of a hat. They're not under any obligation to pick based on merit. You're not going to make them keep you.
