Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Big news next week

Heard big news are going to be delivered most likely at the townhall next week. Anyone knows what’s coming down the pipe? More layoffs? Leadership changes? Sell of parts of business?

When will Cordani stepping down be announced?

Well, all those guesses were wrong. Cordani stepping down, Manders coming back, new RTO rules, etc.
It was basically a non-event. The only “news” was that there will be more layoffs, which we already know.

I guess what was supposed to be the news was the announcement of a new strategy, which just sounds like corporate-consultant buzzword nonsense that means nothing. “Lead to One?” Wtf? This was just some vague nothing-ness about focusing on the consumer and doing more personalization. We’ve tried that before and failed. Why would it work now when we are investing even LESS in customer experience? And we don’t even sell directly to the consumer.

Oh, I forgot. We’re also going to do more aggressive lobbying and PR to try to spin the narrative and trick people into realizing how great we are for consumers. Seriously?

Time to update my resume.

On one hand they are being transparent but I feel like they need to speak to that a little more. What a way to instill anxiety in the workforce. Keep working harder! Keep learning the exact technology that we want to replace you with!!

No big news other than the big hint of layoffs next year?

Is the new RTO policy actually a thing? Or is this speculation? If it’s true - probably the biggest load of BS I’ve ever heard. They need to f-ing relax. Make all Band 5s RTO first.

If Manders is returning for his third go around expect something significant. He has always been David’s most valued partner.

@m7 sounds like Matt Manders will also be returning to the executive team.

@h9 it’s not bad if just need to work 4 days a week, and 6 hours per day for RTO people

@js Poses by the American Flag if you do a google search yet probably supports HIH and offshoring.

@gc curious as why you think that? I do not know much about his way of thinking or leading.

4 days in office with 6 hour minimum each day. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are anchor days.

@gc Cordani seemed like the last bastion against full blown, unashamed offshoring.

Evanko might be turning Cigna into Optum, unfortunately. Brace yourselves.

@g5 The company will be in trouble once Evanko gets the role.

David Cordani retiring in April. Will continue as Chairman of board.

Evanko to be named new CEO.
