At this point, it’s pretty obvious what they’re doing: squeeze as much out of everyone as possible while shifting more work offshore and cutting whoever’s left stateside. They keep merging already overwhelmed teams and piling extra roles onto people who are barely keeping up as is. I doubt anything major will happen before January, but after that, it’s anyone’s guess. The trend is clear, though, and it isn’t good.

The other thing is RTO to get people to leave voluntarily and thus save on severance. Cisco is about to get a whole lot more toxic.
Keep
it[the stock buybacks] up
FTFY.
"The trend is clear" .....another 52 week high.
Keep it up
Jack Welch of General Electric invented the modern layoff and rank-n-yank. He was doing this and more before there was a Cisco in the early 1980s. He was known as "Neutron Jack" for his ability to vaporize employees and leave the buildings in perfect working order. Cisco's previous CEO, John Chambers, idolized him.
Even with this spelled out many times over the better part of a decade here people still haven't fully figured it out.
@cw and now it’s not embraced by either party
"At this point"?
This has been going on for 30+ years, literally. Not in the metaphorical way the kids use 'literally', but in the actual - literal - meaning of the word 'literally'.
America First is the only way out. And, btw, there was a time when 'America First' was embraced by both political parties.
In my neighborhood, the ownership of work has moved "offshore" and now the North American team members take orders from them. It feels like we are auditioning and they are already making it clear who is not making the cut. The vibe is that the offshore team is here to save us if we will only accept their guidance!
They just under-perform differently. They're admittedly better at the performative aspects of LARPing big tech life...Confluence docs, Miro boards, JIRA activity...but the real output is still non-existent. They make less so it buys Cisco some time.
Something is def up. The vibes have been so poor on my team; especially the last week or so. I think everyone is just burnt out. I did see some stuff related to RnD budgets, but I’m not privy to any actual information.
