Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Anybody else feeling completely burnt out?

By the time Friday hits I'm worn out from all the extra work I've been expected to take on, and even an entire weekend of doing nothing but resting doesn't bring my energy back. I start every Monday already drained, and it's getting harder to see how I'm supposed to keep this pace going.

Burnt out? Yes. Just check out like everyone else. Mail it in. How often have you seen your leader less than fully engaged during a meeting?

I’ve witnessed VP’s making personal travel plans during a meeting where their participation and decision making was absolutely crucial.

If they’re checked out… so can you.

We need to just pull the band-aid and move all tech to India. Let them deal with the incompetent leadership like AC and LP in tech...might as well out source the CIO......wait already did.

Now imagine how stressed or sad you would be if you were one of the ones laid off recently.

Not trying to downplay your situation but still…. there is a much, much worse version and in this job market a new job is not guaranteed. Sometimes? sure. big pay cut? probably.

It sounds like you are burnt out/depressed. I would suggest speaking with someone, taking time off to recharge, find someone to talk to and/or looking for another job.

Your health is more important than Nike.

Yes totally burnt out indeed.
I miss my family time I feel I lost myself
Even the presentation deck that they need to present to the top, is tasked downwards to the soldiers to prepare. Yet still need to do day to day work & drive the business by executing this and that. Soldiers are not meant to go to war now, soldiers are meant to pick up the pieces on the floor now.

I’ve worked my 🫏 off the entire time I’ve worked for Nike. Sure Black Friday burns a bit but Christmas Break normally fixes things.

My problem recently is the sheer incompetence I face every day. Id--ts causing id--t problems that keep me spinning my wheels. I get energized when I’m working hard alongside other driven people. But when I’m teaching someone with “ten years experience” (lmao) job basics I spend every day asking ‘wtf is HR doing’.

Nike has been a miserable workplace ever since the red dot mafia took over.

Nike has become a joke. Your title and responsibilities are way out of sync. The titles are low, but the workload and expectations are ridiculously high. can't wait for the market to improve so I can flee from this place. My level of frustration with Nike is through the roof. After the layoffs in the last few years, most of the other places where I worked in the past promoted the people who worked hard to much higher levels. Still, I remain at a low level at Nike from several years ago, despite my workload and responsibilities being several levels higher. I now have to start at the bottom again in the market after I leave this place, either on my own or by being let go, despite a crazy-high workload and responsibilities on my resume. It will be so hard to sell myself.

They fired a bunch of people in EU and want us to assimilate all the work now. Impossible!

Yea. It’s exhausting. And to be honest, it’s depressing. Nike should be absolutely the best place to work, but it’s just so toxic.

We work for an iconic brand and have such a beautiful workspaces yet I absolutely dread coming in. Constantly looking over my shoulder. Wondering if I will be next on the layoff list.
