I think I would take a paycut or more responsibility for the same pay if I worked anywhere else
Today, I am happy you work at Chevron - so I don’t have to.
Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.
Your life should be different than your career or where and for who you work, if otherwise, then you have degraded your life and tied your soul to a company you work or a career you are in. I am only thankful to my family, close friends, being healthy, and able to enjoy life, the rest of up and downs in life are just noise.
Chevron is going to lead the war on Venezuela
Paycheck is a paycheck. Nothing more, nothing less. Don’t pretend otherwise and it all becomes a lot more clear.
A company is made of people who generally act in thier own interest. And if that is to follow the recommendations of consultants to aggressively layoff as provides short term career benefits, that’s what they will do. This is Chevron, they will be nice about it. But they’ll do it just the same.
Thankful yes, but a 55 exit is looking better and better. This world of constant change under the guise of some new catch phase BS to attempt to mask over another headcount cost reduction is quickly losing its appeal.
I am happy that I got selected, but mainly to buy time while I unskill for a better job. Without the hybrid schedule, Chevron is mediocre but temporary safe.
Grateful I don't get laidoff
