We went from a place I enjoyed working at to a place I can't wait to leave in just a few years. I'm not sure what caused the complete shift in culture, but it happened and I know I'm far from the only one who noticed this. I don't know many people who're not currently looking for alternatives.

@1hw 100% true. See if every single day.
Respect for ALL employees and proritizing quality work is long gone. Nepotism, bad behavior, hanging buddies and disrespect have become a core value. VERY few areas and managers in the company are legit. The other areas where the managers are not legit or qualified are a real swirling toxic mess, yet they continue to be retained and promoted.
100% and advancement is only getting worse if you stay there. Depending on the division - Operations is impossible to get promoted past VP. Yet a lot of areas sit very MD heavy who literally do nothing while they lay off VPs, Directors etc. leaving the people that actually do the work extremely demotivated. I don't know why I overwork myself here.
They shredding apart ETrade into pieces. I remember a couple of years ago, people were crying when they were laid off. I manage to stay, but restrictions are put in place far more then what I would hope for then suddenly people started jumping shift. ETrade EDs were getting replaced by MS EDs and the cultured change when those EDs are being reporting to MS MDs and only hire their friends.
It feels like things have gone downhill since Covid. I really miss the days when people were kind, capable, and supportive. Now it seems like everything is about office politics. People don’t value quality work the way they used to. Instead, being a smooth talker or a bootlicker seems to get you further. If this is what people start prioritizing, things are only going to decline even faster.
