FIS is under investigation for violating the WARN Act in Bellevue, Washington

The law firm Strauss Borrelli PLLC is investigating FIS for WARN act violations. Many of us were laid off this month without notice and this applies to us.

This is their website:

From their website:
On July 11, 2025, FIS notified the Washington Employment Security Department of its decision to conduct a mass layoff at its facility in Bellevue, Washington. The federal law, known as the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, requires covered employers to provide 60 days’ prior written notice to employees, their representatives, and certain government parties in the event of a mass layoff or plant closing. We are investigating whether FIS failed to provide at least 60 days’ notice before laying off 133 employees and, therefore, violated the WARN Act.

The link you shared isn’t an active suit, it’s essentially the WARN version of a billboard lawyer. They just want someone to come forward so they have free discovery

I know I’m going to get downvoted for being a buzzkill, but it’s the honest answer

@b0 Signing a severance document may waive the taking of civil action, but it cannot waive the right to file a complaint with a government agency for the [former] employer's violations of laws or regulatory requirements such as WARN. When asked about WARN, an FIS lawyer affirmed they perform preliminary analyses to keep RIF number under thresholds, thus keeping the letter of the law but violating the spirit. This is exemplary of the ethics of FIS executive management in a nutshell, so not only should employees be wary, but clients, business partners, and anyone who signs a contract with them as well.

This is old news and only relevant to Atlanta I believe. Different WARN act regulations in every state. FIS have legal teams that will sidestep the WARN act in all areas. They're cruel but not stupid.

You can't join if you've signed your severance. Make sure you have someone review it before signing.

When i got laid off at tsys/gp in August 2024 it was 2400 of us. 133 sounds like a small number in comparison. I am sorry for all who lost their jobs. Maybe file a class action lawsuit?
