Losing my job has hit me harder than I expected. The market is brutal right now, and thinking about starting fresh somewhere else feels overwhelming. Even landing anything at all feels like a long shot. This was the worst possible moment to lose my job.

You’re going to be waiting until April or May at this point because there’s another hiring freeze after yesterdays round of layoffs
@2pr Laid off as junk, and they hire you back as junk and then lay you off as junk.
Sounds like an awesome lifestyle.
Collect unemployment and relax with your severance! After the usual 120 day "cool off" period, the company almost always re-opens positions. Layoffs is just a way to cook the books. Sometime within a quarter or two, you'll get another opportunity. I was just laid off for the 3rd time in 10 years! Other than health insurance, I'm enjoying my time off!
Put in an application at Cloudflare. They're the latest ones to destroy the internet while doing an in-service upgrade.
Were you part of the August layoffs? I’m enjoying myself so far.
I was laid off 2 years ago. Took my severance and didn't do anything. An opening came up at the end of severance and haven't been happier in years.
Dude, there's never a good time to get laid off. Don't let it get your down. Life is more than working for the CEO or shareholders. "stakeholders" is the new BS term now.
For cellular work, there is often an international work angle too, even if it pays less, I could work in the Caribbean or Pacific anytime this winter, as only one example. What is the value of that working vacation? priceless. I would almost pay them for it.
There must be something else you enjoy more than time at TMUS.
There's no time to get depressed! I went through this 2 years ago, and was borderline suic----. Can't believe how much time I wasted grieving over a company that didn't grieve for me. I would lay in bed and weep for days, week after week. Do take at least one or two days to regroup for self care, but don't keep procrastinating. Don't waste your time grieving, the best way to get back at them and heal yourself is to plan your brand. Set yourself apart from others and find your niche - white lies are okay as long as you are comfortable with what you can personally accomplish.
Get onto LinkedIn and other job sites and start networking YESTERDAY. Think of any vendor or prior acquaintance that you ever did business with who can vouch for you and maybe knows someone who is hiring. Majority of jobs are not what you know, but who you know. I ended up landing another job at a competitor with a 31% pay increase over my old salary. Try to find industry certifications that you can quickly finish and also post that activity on LinkedIn to keep your name visible.
I also recommend using AI tools to help draft multiple resumes in advance, for different lines of business that you may encounter or have experience in. I also used a resume builder and job interview tracker site called TealHQ The free version has some decent free features, but you can pay for one month and build and export a resume.
If you have any TMUS stock, consider selling some of it to help ease financial burden and don't forget to file unemployment before your garden leave benefits expire. By the time that happens, your waiting period will already have lapsed. I found state unemployment support extremely worthless and out of touch. For example, they still wanted me to consider fax! FAX? in 2025?!?!
