I have an offer from Carelon in the behavioral health area. I’ve heard the person that heads that business is a good leader (CP) but the person above her I should stay away from in Carelon (BW) I work in a similar field today but this is a promotion and seems like a good opportunity. I’m just concerned about what I’m hearing about the other leader. Any advice.

CP is a good leader, with more vision than we have had in bh for a long time. bh was and is a mess and cost cutting make it hard to do anything. But I hear other publicly traded companies aren't any better.
I work in Cops org and agree she’s a good leader. BW is the problem and only cares about how she “looks”. I’ve heard her backstab everyone including CP. real piece of work
@hb yikes. I guess different people having different experiences.
CP is horrendous. Fake, fake, fake. Has no real vision for the org and changes her mind every week with her direction but doesn’t share updates. Stay away.
@ct Yep. Seeing a lot of phishy posts on this site lately. It’s such a waste when we used to get good intel in the site. I feel like it’s on purpose from corporate communications. Maybe they think people will stop coming on here.
BW is an awful leader and needs to go! Says one thing to your face and another behind your back.

@OP Carelon is known as Careless for a reason - they are miserable to work with internally - I thought they RIF'd staff not too long ago. How do you do this? You are supposed to stay away from your boss's boss - who do you think sets the pace for your boss. Strange post
You probably will get a 50/50 response on this site (since its a layoffs site) so you should take what you get here knowing there will be bias.
Elevance is similar to every other health care company...and every other company in general. There is good and there is bad. Its a big company that is publicly traded and also relies on some government contracts...both of which can be contributors to layoffs and working short staffed at times. If you go into it knowing those things then you won't be surprised when things like that happen.
In my opinion, if you keep your head down, do your work and are easy to work with things generally work out.
