No one gives a S what you do in the office, or at all. Shart wakes up every day moving the company in the "right" direction to downsize you. And while you shuffle to the door with your cardboard box of WF BS trinkets, you can remember this conversation and will realize that none of it matters and the execs hate you.
@op are you complaining about having to put in a full 8 hour day now instead of napping and running errands or are you complaining about your inability to set boundaries and adhere to them?
Color me curious.
@a1 Accurate description. Over that time period I've gone from a dedicated team of 7 down to 3 who now operate under a shared services model. The office environment has gone from small cubicles with 4 ft walls and semi-privacy to packed trade floor seating where I can hear every conversation on my row or reach over and move my coworkers mouse for them.
We do more with less, you had a mastectomy—thanks for being at your desk!
Funny how that's never the message with executive compensation.
So, do what you can. Intentionally do NOT create todo lists and work the highest priority stuff. If it's all high priority (which it usually is at WF), then just work what is a reasonable amount needed to keep your well being protected.
Do not ki-l yourself over a company that will likely just throw you out with the garbage anyway.
The office like one of those Indian pig butchering call centers, except 80 of the cubes have broken equipment and no one you work with day to day is there. This is by far the worst place I've ever worked.
