I'm not sure how it works here, but my old company usually had two major layoffs per year, and it'd all be done by November. Can somebody please tell me how it works here? I've been here for six months, so I'm still trying to figure stuff out. Thanks in advance.

DXC doesn’t want to lay people off — it keeps people on the bench who it won’t let go. But it sure seems determined to make their lives, and everyone else’s, such a misery that more people just quit.
Most of us just want something useful to do, to be rewarded for our efforts, and to be supported by management. If you can cope without any of that, then stay.
I can’t even get people to do things they could just Google and have the answer on a plate FFS.
Yes I left (was fired) last quarter and my happiness is still at the very high level. I have a new job although I sometimes miss "money for nothing" RnR I had at DXC. At new job I actually have goals and management that cares.
Atleast we can all agree on, AI would be a huge benefit by cost reduction and some degree of logical thinking, by letting AI do the useless brocks role.

This tells you the state of the company, but interestingly enough, the management and board knows this state of affairs for last ten years, but just milk as much as they can and go.
This is Madoff Ponzi scheme.
You can leave at any time
I’ve had colleagues go in all four quarters
Don’t think for one second they won’t get rid of you at Xmas
Leavers normally leave at the end of the quarter, but that’s a tough one when it involves Xmas.
A big layoff in the UK needs 45 days consultation, so to be gone before the mandatory vacation, it would need to be an announced tomorrow or Wednesday. Up to 99 redundancies = 30 days. Nov 20th last possible
In general there are layoffs every quarter with people leaving at the end of the quarter.
