@cq This is an old thread but apparently "leaders" within Home had bad reputations elsewhere prior to TGT. They think they are design experts when they truly are overpaid remote bullies. Some designers are already leaving (or looking for employment elsewhere) due to no longer being interested in being exploited and bullied any longer.

@cq I heard a rumor about a Design Leader proclaiming (when asked about rework and long hours) that Designers should be lucky to design for TGT and to stop complaining (or something to that effect). Any truth to that?

I think I need a summary of the summary.

All you've done is re-post a series of one-line rumors by anonymous people. That's not a summary, it's a laundry-list of prior posts.

Here's what ChatGPT came up with from your "summary". This is what these things excel at, and I think it's accurate, but still based on anonymous posts.

Summary: Target October 2025 Layoffs

Target executed large-scale layoffs across multiple divisions in October 2025, hitting Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Merchandising, Operations, and Corporate functions.

Technology & Engineering: Major cuts, including cybersecurity, R&D, and data analytics. Some entire teams dissolved, with indications that tech and security functions will be outsourced to India or U.S. contractors.

Merchandising & Planning: Senior roles (especially L7 directors and planning leads) eliminated; several creative, sourcing, and design teams shut down or moved offshore.

Customer Service & Operations: Call centers and store operations heavily affected — multiple leadership tiers removed, including directors and team leads.

DEI & Community: Conflicting reports — some say DEI functions were dissolved, others that they were rebranded as “Community Impact.”

Finance & Admin: Reductions in Finance, Procurement, and Communications, per WARN filings.

General sentiment: Widespread confusion, internal leaks, and anger over the abrupt process. Many see this as cost-cutting and restructuring, with R&D and digital teams expected to face further reductions later.

Overall: The layoffs represent a major restructuring, focusing on downsizing high-level and U.S.-based roles while shifting technical and support work offshore.

Transportation/GTT saw some team restructure. A handful of L6s/L7s and even a few L4s/L5s were let go.

Surprised Bingka survived. She is an insecure bully who thinks that living in NYC compensates for her lack of talent, disgusting personality and ghastly appearance. She can carry any designer bag she wants, but still looks like a short fat, ugly troll. If she had any self-awareness, or business savvy she would be mortified to preside over such massive market share loss, and poor performance. What an inexcusable joke. With “leaders” like this we can plan on more bad news.
