If they haven’t been increasing headcount there already to trim here, I speculate they will start backfilling there eventually. I’ve seen it happen at other companies.

@a9 When I worked at Best Buy it was 10 engineers in India for the price of one here. Management calculated that given the cost savings, having a project take 3x longer there was still worth it. It was also a great way to watch the talent quit
@a8 I think we all understand that part. How much ROI Are they seeing when they are creating more work? I can do the work of 3-4 of my TII colleagues.
If you knew how cheap and abundant Indian workers are you’d know why Target is doing this. Not saying it’s right but many companies have gone this way. Investors don’t care as long as they see a ROI.
@OP they already have. Quietly training and hiring for a few years now. So easily giving our jobs away to overseas vendors without any remorse.
They have been backfilling roles in TII for a while. Laying off US team members and backfilling in TII
