Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Long term disability to being laid off

Does anyone have direct experience going from a long term disability leave of absence while their site or coworkers were laid off, and were returned to work after the layoff? I am currently on LTD and am wondering what the process will be when my doctor returns me to work. Will I get a 60 day non working notice or go directly to being laid off? The employee handbook doesn't cover this and I will be asking my manager, just wondering if anyone has already gone through this with HR.

@ed I'm also in a position of already being notified by Wells Fargo I'll be displaced when returning from LTD. Now they have sent a letter they are terminating me end of month for being out 24 months.

Is there any way to extend this so I don't lose medical insurance?

If not, can I retire in lieu of being terminated? Been here 31 years and am eligible if I was not on LOA. Will they extend my leave long enough to process retirement? I know it says start doing it 6 months in advance.

TIA for any help!

I am wondering the same. I've been out for some time and haven't had any contact. I don't even know who my manager is at this point.

manager here who has had this situation with staff.

if you are part of a displacement while on LTD, you will be notified of the displacement when it happens during your leave.

when you are released by your doctor to return to work, you begin your notice period.

Whether it's working or non working notice is up to the displacing business unit.

Not exact same situation, but coworker was out on military leave and got the call at that was laid off. So he never came back and was let go the same day as the others on the team.

OP here, I'm ok with getting laid off and getting severance, I just want to know how that process will work.
