So maintenance just put alarms on the freezers that go off after 2 minutes of the door being open. How are you suppose to do your job when you get over a 1000 piece truck per day? Not to mention all the freight in the steel plus 3 to 4 rows deep of back frieght stacked 3 high.

With the new lift devices on you will be lucky to get out of the freezer before the alarm goes off.
years ago we had freezer doors that closed on their own after just a couple minutes. I kept telling people that would eventually get a door torn off by a forklift. Well ater many near misses where the doors closed as we were going in or out I was running a freezer truck load to the freezer. On the lift you drive a bit passed the door then enter the freezer forks first. It was a tall skid that blocked my few as I started to enter the freezer. I caught the door by about an inch and tore it off its rollers. I got coached. Another person or two hit the doors and got coached. Eventually they disabled the doors. The coachings still remained. Management almost never listens to reason.
so is it a temp alarm or the door? Magnet on the door? Just get a magnet and put it on so it thinks its closed.
