Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Pittsburgh no longer considered a growth location

Lake Mary is the "new" flavor-of-the-day/week/month/year. Reqs are Pune-only in Pittsburgh, AI is being shoved down our throats, Pune is taking over, and teams are actively training their eventual replacements in India. The big, tall building in Pittsburgh has very large pockets of empty floors/departments and the move to the much, much smaller building across the street is on-going.

AI, layoffs, and outsourcing to India: trending high. Lake Mary- the "new" growth location in the US.

25 percent forced rankings and many layoffs coming.

I remember back in the day when India was not allowed to have more than 30% of the work. Now it seems we’ve flip flopped and the US can’t have more than 30%

@vs well tell us then? What’s wrong with the post? It seems accurate to the numerous people upvoting it.

Most of your post is extremely inaccurate, If not completely false.

Weird of you to even make this post tbh

This is a significant win for state and local elected politicians, UCF and other state schools, and BNY plant and campus infrastructure.

Thrilled to mention the upcoming Lake Mary Open House scheduled for October 22nd! This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible public and private partnerships that have flourished here in Lake Mary.

We are excited to welcome state and local politicians, as well as the UCF band and mascot, to our campus. Their presence will help highlight the significant investments BNY has made in our Lake Mary facilities, thanks to the generous support of state and local tax credits.

These partnerships have been instrumental in creating a resource pipeline that enables us to hire so many talented new college graduates and support the local economy. This is a significant win for state and local elected politicians, UCF and other state schools, and BNY plant and campus infrastructure.

LOL, yes, it’s always a gimmick. Always a charade. Always a phony trick here isn’t it?
Ooooo! New cafeteria! Boy oh boy spending $12 for a cr-ppy lunch! Man thats got me wanting to be here. $50 a month for the gym. Hey d..k heads ever hear of planet fitness and $10 a month? And what kind of nut has time for this here? Oh production issue? Client call? Sorry can’t talk now, I am on stair master! What’s more funny? True technical talent in Florida as just as expensive and more so than in NY. But oh, those tax write offs! We are run by greedy imbeciles who are running this place into the ground. Always lies and fakes. It’s their true talent.

@ap The big reason Lake Mary is a strategic growth location is that BNY is receiving state and local tax credits for new jobs created. The tax credits are fueling the investment in people and facilities upgrades. Most of the new jobs are being filled about new college grads from UCF and other state schools. Look for BNY to turn up the PR hype this week on LinkedIn and other social media channels promoting the grand reopening of Lake Mary and their new non-subsidized cafeteria and on- site gym, which is supported by associate dues of $50 per month. Local politicians and the bald guy from New York are coming in to celebrate this ‘landmark win.’ Guarantee there will be no mention of the massive layoffs at the reopening event, but of course they hype will be all about the palpable energy peaking and surging everywhere on campus. The Seminole County Fire Dept may be on hand to deal with the surging energy overload!

The writing was on the wall once BNY 'acquired' Mellon Bank...the only thing that surprises me is how long it's took to diminish Pgh.

Both locations are awful and so isnt india so none should be considered that. Any company will a good leader wouldnt restrict hiring to 3 locations or keep sc--wing over good employees to outsource. Cant wait for karma to bite this place in the azz and i hope its soon

@ap I'm surprised they didn't choose Jacksonville over Lake Mary. If we're comparing armpits.

Lake Mary is absolutely terrible! It is literally the arm pit of Florida. Traffic is awful, not near the beach and is on the wrong side of Orlando from Disney. I’m pretty sure that the original “Florida Man” was from here.

Robin has never ever called Pittsburgh a growth center. Management just calls it strategic. But all of these are strategic until they are scrapped. And that is the strategy- scrap all they can. Taxachusetts is next.

Pissburgh was always a sham operation. Lake will be Superior in the end.

In other news: water is wet. That said, the AI bubble will burst, but that will not stop India from taking over BNY.
