My Boss Said The Company Is No Longer Gonna Pay For My Mobile Phone starting January 1. Has anyone else heard this rumor? Is this true?

If they take my phone, they won't know my personal number. None of their business. Oh, good luck getting me to "check in safe" when they do one of their emergency tests. They can try and find me.
Chevron will never learn. Whenever there is a cost savings initiative we focus on copy paper and phones.
If they take your phone you can switch off after 5:00 pm. Do it.
I don’t believe this. I think this is rage bait.
Good fu---n' riddance!
They will probably give you the option of converting your company phone number to a private phone number just like they encourage retirees. Don’t do it! Then every one of your company contacts will still be able to call you.
Odd as they are still deploying phones to Hess people- who get to carry 3 phones until the network is fully integrated.
But, but, but, without the Company phone how will you post on the layoff site?
Jesus H., CVX has become a cheap motherf----rSeriously? Can’t pay for cell phones anymore?
What, is having a company phone a badge of honor. They are doing you a favor.
I have not been told that, but if that ends up being the case, I am absolutely not putting any company apps on my personal phone. I use my company phone a lot for work. No way am I putting that extra wear and tear and data usage on my personal phone.
Good! No more being on call 24/7
I can’t wait until my company phone is taken away from me. Let somebody in the engine be on call 24 hours a day for my job if Chevron LT someone else can perform my job better than me.
don't let them contact you, install apps or do business on your personal phone - they can provide one if they want that
But how will they track where you are?
I got rid of my company phone when we were given the option last year. One of the best things I did, yet my manager seemed confused as to why I was suddenly less productive.
I hope the lost productivity was worth the $50 a month it saved you, you cheap b.a.s.t.a.r.d.s.
What a blessing!
Getting rid of my company phone was one of the best things I ever did while working for Chevron. You will be amazed how good not to have a company phone.
Good news is you don’t have to take work calls after hours. Or any other time.
I want the new 17 and have been told no. The best I am allowed to get is a 15. Cheap as--s.
