These days, I swear telling someone your thoughts is like yelling into a canyon. Nothing happens, nothing ever changes, even if it's something that could help significantly speed up things. There's no point in trying anymore. It’s easier to nod and move on than to waste energy trying to fix anything.

Lol, if feedback mattered, the bogus CES would result in actual actions and changes for the better. Instead they banned CES.
Feedback has always been fluff. In 35 years I knew only one manager who took advice from it. The rest either got hostile or blew it off. But the minions were expected to summarize and have a plan during mid year and final PMPs.
The trending thing seems to be acknowledging the input, thanking you for it and then doing nothing or providing some sort of lip service to the input. Often this is even called showing empathy. I loved when the latest survey results would come out and the action items were all given to low and mid-level managers - like here is what everyone is saying - what are you going to do about it. Instead of actioning an overall plan and engaging everyone to implement it. That is when I stopped participating in the surveys....
